A friend from birth, a sister at heart

Never would I have thought I would lose my best friend, practically a sister. I feel so lucky to have been given the opportunity to experience a strong friendship like I did with Ashley. I’ve learned that the most remarkable things occur when you aren’t looking and even brief encounters are memorable. Leaving me with a permanent imprint, marking a moment in time that will never be erased. Ashley used to complain of terrible headaches but she didn’t pay much attention to it; until one morning when she just didn’t wake up. Even though I no longer have my best friend with me, I’ll always carry a memory of her. The song I chose always brings tears to my eyes when I listen to it. It’s the lines in this song that I can’t express out loud, but the one line in the song that I absolutely love is “…and I’ll tell you all about it when I see you again”. This memory is so important in my life because I wouldn’t be who I am today if not having such an amazing best friend like her. Ashley taught me not to dwell on the unchangeable past but to learn from the experience and not hide behind it, but instead, accept it, and keep on driving. I will never forget such an incredible person like my best friend and she’s impossible to be replaced. Just this entire song, the lyrics, the emotion, the tone always brings me back to remembering the good times we shared. I miss my best friend so much and can’t believe that she is actually gone. Sometimes, I like to think it’s a dream and little did I know how fast our lives were one day going to change. This song will always be the one I listen to when flipping through the scrapbook of memories.
