An ending, but also a new beginning

I was leaving New York City and 6 of my friends came to the airport with me to see me off. I was having mixed emotions – happy because I finally get to go where I long desired to go and sad because I was leaving my favorite people behind. After all the goodbyes I went to the check-in counter just to hear that I was 5 minutes late (needed to collect the boarding pass 45 min. prior to the scheduled departure of the flight). I canceled the flight and booked the immediate next ones. Since the next flight was at 5:30 am morning, we decided to stay back at the airport itself. And somehow it turned to be the first and the best night out. We sang songs, talked our hearts out, watched stars lying down in the grass, walked in the serenity and while going back I left with a heavy heart and the best of memories. It was very simple, simplest it could have ever been. The best thing is, we don’t have any pictures of the day but we have the photographic memory. Now sometimes I lay down and watch the stars, but it’s different; mainly because I don’t have the same 6 people around me. I chose this song mainly because of the lyrics that are said in the beginning of the song. The song sets a mood that I was feeling that same day I was with my friends before my flight. Just the title of the song itself “Written in the stars”; basically no matter how many miles away I am from my friends, even the stars know we will always keep in touch and meant to stay close. The tone of the song has such a powerful vibe, and I can never forget this one memory that this song will always bring me back to.
